«Carrefour» (Cross-point), 28 pictures from self-portrait series, which is taken at informal garbage of the city of Dijon, where we find all kinds of garbage but mostly clothes. I went there, chose clothes suitable to my size and took pictures.
For me, the cloth symbolizes the human body. Thrown clothes in large amount symbolize the anonymity and absence of the body. So for me wearing these clothes does not mean showing up my own body but the absence of owners of these clothes. There are 28 different «me» but each time I am the substitute for someone else.
Wearing dumped clothes are asking questions about existence and not-existence, life and death, mass consumption and problem of garbage in the current society, and identity.
That’s why I call this project «Carrefour», in my eyes here intersect many unknown stories.

(FR) Ce projet, intitulé « Carrefour », est une série d’autoportraits photographiques que j’ai réalisés dans une décharge non-autorisée de la ville de Dijon, où l’on trouve toute sorte de déchets mais surtout des vêtements. J’y suis allée, j’ai choisi des vêtements à ma taille et j’ai pris des photos.
Pour moi, le vêtement symbolise le corps humain. Les vêtements jetés en grande quantité symbolisent l’anonymat et l’absence du corps. Donc pour moi porter ces vêtements ne signifie pas faire apparaître mon propre corps mais l’absence des propriétaires des vêtements. Il y a 28 « moi »différents, mais chaque fois je suis le substitut de quelqu’un d’autre.
C’est pourquoi j’appelle ce projet «Carrefour», à mes yeux ici se croisent beaucoup d’histoires inconnues.
